AWS instance types

instance_type on qumulo_filesystem_aws accepts only the EC2 instance types on this page. Any other value fails plan validation.

Supported types and capacity

Each cell is the most capacity one node of that type supports, in TB. A dash marks a size the provider does not accept.

soft_capacity_limit_tb must not exceed node_count times the per-node value, or the plan fails with Requested capacity exceeds instance capacity. Its own range is 50 to 50,000 TB. It can grow by less than 5,000 TB per apply and never shrinks.

EBS read cache on m6i and m7i

The m6i and m7i families have no local NVMe storage, so the provider builds their read cache from EBS volumes. These sit alongside the write-cache and DKV volumes every node gets.

Property Value
Volume type gp3
Size per volume 1 TiB
IOPS per volume 12,500
Throughput per volume 525 MiB/s
Minimum Qumulo Core version 7.4.3. An older cluster_version fails at plan time.
